bike value Empty bike value

Post by CraigB Sun Sep 13, 2009 2:39 pm

ok, guys, my paint work is shagged, its an 01 bike, 03 engine, yet i nenver did changed that v5, so i just wont mention that hahaa.

speedo's broke. It's not clean, but still runs well for me.

Id say im happy with £600, to cover my insurance on the new bike. But the more i get, the more i can spent on a new bike, plus i can buy leather and have my licence sorted out. It's a shame concidering the money i spent on it, well ehh, £400 on paint, and it was pratically a rolling chassy when i got it if that gives you any idea.

But, what do you think i should ask for this? looking to sell it november.

£600 is prob. pushing it. You should get what you paid at least. If you break it up for parts and sell each bit separately, you'll get more, but then it's more hassle.

Unless you advertise it on ebay with those photos and sell it as 'near mint used bike - owned by one careful 17 year old rider' Smile

get my money back. Top of my head...

bike 200
engine 100
paint 400
powdercoating wheels 80
exhaust 80
tyres 100 n odd
i honestly could go on all day....

like iv always said, fuck the money haha, i dont plan on getting any of it back, however i would like to think its gonna fund my insurance.

Besides the paint your missing the fact its a great bike Smile carnt say she ever let's me down, besides general wear and tear.

Just fitted new bearings and a new bwttery these last few weeks.

Once the speedo is fixed, which i dont have any intentions of doing b4 the sale if im honest, it should walk an mot...

I've never ridden one of those RS50s before! They look ultra-cool though (when not crashed). Why not keep it and live with it as a run around and wring its little engine neck out without worrying about its looks!

It sounds bad, but that's the direction I take: new bike - not a single scratch. New bike - some b***h reverses into it. Previously new bike - looking a bit worn. Crashed bike -mods. Old bike - not quite had it. Very old bike - don't care what it looks like. Goner - can't stand it!

Of course, that usually takes me about 5 years to get through that cycle. Not 5 months Smile

It's sure expensive running two bikes!

I did it for a year, and it was very painful. A 400cc is a nice street rider though. There's nothing you can't do on a 400cc that a bigger bike can do on the roads Wink

I love my bike, even the top end doesnt bother me, its more acceleration i want.

When i get a big bike anywhere near me you can garentee im just trying my hardest to get near them, to garentee they look in there mirror, laught, then just turn there wriste a tiny bit and there down the road before i can even say bye lol!

I just carnt wait to be able to do that, no more overtaking car for 10 min's, be more of a 0.2 second job lol
