RS50 speedo issue!
The girl that bought my 50 is having a prob with the speedo! its completly fucked!! had a look and all connexions look good and tight, but you can go down road about 30mph and speedo is only reading 5mph, anyone had this problem? is it common and can it be fixed easily?

Speedo drive could be missing a few Teeth.

Check the whole speedo cable for breaks, by taking it out the sleeve.
Now, unplug the cable at the back of the dials, keep the other end screwed in the speedo drive.
Now, push the bike forward slowly, you should see the cable turning/feel it.
If it doesn't turn or it does it every now and again, then its the speedo drive.
But surely its her problem, as its a perishable item that doesn't last the lifetime of the bike?

Sounds more like the speedo drive than anything.

it can only be like, one of three things, the clock, the cable or the speedo drive? lol
Just do what i did.............. gusstimate and leave it haha. I got by just fine, but i susupected my speedo drive was fucked!
