You know....it still amazes me...that at 16, you know how to strip a bike down.
I wouldn't know half where to start with that ....mess

Well it is a compliment Will!
I'm sure you'd do well in the electrical components of your college course. As for the woodwork, having a blockhead like mine when it comes to DIY wouldn't help much
You have a garage and complete space to work from - that makes the DIY stuff enjoyable.
I just finished running a tube of autosol across my exhausts and pipes. It looks quite filthy! I'm thinking maybe I need to get one of those professional deep bike clean units (they remove traces of rust too) which cost around £150 to come and restore mine to its former glory.
That last 8 hours marathon cross-country in the rain really was a soaking. It's just incredible that it holds up so beautifully

You dont read it all, just like wiring diagrams..
You only read the bits you do.
Its simple once you get going

Won't help me.....I did Physics A level and I can read complex diagrams on resistance, transistors - the lot! Or derive quantum mechanics equations.
But when it comes to changing a light bulb, I shudder in case I take it out the wrong way

Im amazing for MAKING things fit.. I put the wrong bulb in my bike because I couldnt be arsed spending £5 on another :@
I put a car bulb in the DT, was all the wring shape, but was MUCH brighter.
Had to break some bits off, becuase it wouldnt fit though..

Lol. I hope you're still talking about bikes and not girlfriends
That's like my brother. I had to put with him for years dismantling my cd player; computer, camera - everything. He considered himself an expert inventor of rendering everything useful I had completely obsolete!
Well if you put the wrong bulb in your bike - won't it blind or cause flare problems, and not necessarily give you the right illumination?
Oh - one thing I notice about my headlights - they're really brilliant for illuminating up to 500 yards
But I've never touched or modified them either..

Yeah, I was forever taking things apart when I was younger, especially things with motors in it! haha
And i had to adjust the angle of the headlamp (single, so easy to adjust)
But was working good after, did blind some people, but only because i couldnt be arsed spending ages finding the right angle

Re: My bike looks quite sad
Now now guys!
Let's be nice.
Just think - if Will does *bodge* it, you will have the best collection of RS parts to choose from
Will - any chance you can stick those metal parts in a bag and wash them in one of those white machines behind?

Re: My bike looks quite sad
If i put them in a bag that defeats the object of cleaning them hahah
They are knackered, and fallen apart and crushed bearings
ill get a pic of the new bearings in a bit,
I also made myself a exhaust hanger, and got rid of the rear pegs and mounts
Looks alot cleaner and has removed weight off the bike haha

Re: My bike looks quite sad
I'd agree with getting rid of the rear pegs....they are pretty pointless on a RS50.
Like...you really want to go at 20mph top speed with a pillion?! If that's even legal.....!
